Plastic Candy isn’t about reviews, news articles or streaming media, it’s like a category of its own and a personal/impersonal approach at a bit of each of them. Plastic Candy is a broadcast of the bitter, sour, sweet and, (since it’s all about Asian pop culture) the cute. I hope you enjoy the content I’ll be writing about (since it’s a little bit of everything), and I always love to hear what you think, especially because I tend to get the controversial side of J-Pop / K-Pop ♥

Plastic Player

The Plastic Player is a cute little widget where you can listen to some of my favorite songs/albums of all-time and/or songs I feel are appropriate for all you plastified readers ♥ I hope you enjoy the selection of K-Pop / J-Pop, and the songs are constantly changing . . . not because it’s on shuffle, but because I’m very fickle and love to change my current musical interests.

COUNTDOWNS

COUNTDOWNS are some of Plastic Candy‘s jewels because they feature picks by myself and by a many of my friends. They’re really special to me because they’re a lot of fun to make and I love writing something special with other people, so don’t hesitate to suggest some songs for future countdowns or even suggest future countdowns!

6 active minutes

6 active minutes are a bit of an upgraded version of COUNTDOWNS. It still sports the same concept and the idea of introducing a selection of songs to serve a certain purpose, all in collaboration with my friends and readers of the blog, but with some slight changes. Instead of embedding entire songs to the post, I now compose a mixtape of samples from each selection (which total 6 minutes in length) so you get a good idea of each of them in less time and the number of songs present in each one is also more flexible (so maybe I pick more songs and less time for each or fewer songs with more time for each)! The mixtape is also followed by a brief description for each song. I’ve been having a lot of fun with those, and I hope you are too!

Reviews

I love writing reviews because it’s the most open-ended type of writing and I love to work with humor whenever I can as to not make anything sound offensive and give the reviews a little twist. I think my reviews are a bit more like recommendations, since I review things I really like, but it’s a sweet way to write about my interests and convey a little bit of who I am. I mostly review albums, EPs, concerts, J-Dramas and the occasional manga and anime if I find something interesting that I really love.

Artists

I usually write artist pages once I discover a new artist or when a certain artist manages to catch my attention in a strong enough way. I also love writing artist posts because I can run away a little from the obvious aspects and write more about trivia or about them as personalities, not only about their work. They’re usually small compilation of facts regarding that artist. Some of my favorite artists are Utada Hikaru, Koda Kumi, Maki Goto, Junsu (from DBSK), and Ga-In (from the Brown Eyed Girls).

Editorials

If I read about something really interesting around the internet, I like to look up more information (if I need it) and then write about it in my neat freak manner, all sources organized into one post. The editorials are usually relating to news about artists I listen to or about current issues/topics and might not be as frequent as the other posts.

Fashion is a form of expression very much connected to music nowadays and this fashion-dedicated segment of Plastic Candy is all about reviewing fashion worn by artists as well as explore some Japanese fashion movements! This is a part of Plastic Candy I love because not only do I learn a lot but I’m able to share this knowledge and possibly even clear some doubts about fashion some readers may have! Feel free to request any fashion movements you may want to learn (more) about!
